As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.

The Solutions Architect will lead the modernization efforts of the Department of Defense Trauma Registry (DoDTR) under the Joint Trauma System (JTS) program, while also providing key systems engineering expertise for the operational medicine capability of MHS GENESIS. This dual role will involve directing cloud migration, data integration, and system architecture initiatives, while overseeing the enhancement of operational medicine capabilities within MHS GENESIS. The Solutions Architect will design, develop, test, and implement scalable, secure solutions to enhance trauma and medical systems, ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge solutions aligned with mission-critical objectives for both JTS and Operational Medicine systems.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Solutions Architect: $130,000 - $180,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Solutions Architect Responsibilities Include: 

  • Provide technical direction for the modernization of the DoD Trauma Registry (DoDTR) and other relevant systems. 
  • Lead the architecture and design of MHS GENESIS’s operational medicine capability, ensuring scalability, functionality, and alignment with DHMSM, LPDH, and JOMIS standards. 
  • Oversee the migration of DoDTR to AWS Cloud, ensuring compliance with RMF guidelines and ATO requirements. 
  • Design and implement robust ETL processes, leveraging AI/ML and OCR technologies for trauma data migration, integration, and reporting. 
  • Architect solutions for trauma data processing, ensuring compliance with ICD-10, SNOMED, AIS codes, and seamless integration between cloud and hybrid environments. 
  • Lead efforts in modernizing operational medicine systems, focusing on data exchange, system integration, and model-based systems engineering. 
  • Ensure cybersecurity compliance across JTS and operational medicine systems, maintaining RMF standards, and managing security incident response plans. 
  • Oversee the application of DoD cybersecurity implementations and ensure SELC best practices are integrated into system design and operations. 
  • Collaborate with DoD personnel, data engineers, and cloud providers to drive cohesive efforts across technical domains. 
  • Lead the development of systems engineering documentation, including systems specs, change control systems, and workflow processes for both trauma and operational medicine systems. 
  • Conduct system performance reviews, offering recommendations for enhancements to trauma registries and operational medicine platforms. 
  • Maximize utility of systems through innovation and optimization strategies, ensuring alignment with functional and operational medicine objectives. 
  • Leadership & Knowledge Transfer: 
  • Lead cross-functional teams, managing systems engineering processes for JTS and MHS GENESIS projects. 
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to technical staff and operational users on new system features and data reporting capabilities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Solutions Architect Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • US Citizenship with an active ADP2/IT2 Public Trust clearance (or higher). 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 
  • 10+ years of experience in systems architecture and cloud solutions, particularly in Health IT and large-scale data systems. 
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in systems engineering, managing cross-functional technical teams. 
  • Cloud Expertise: Proven experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, including service design, migration, and operation. 
  • Data Integration: Expertise in ETL pipelines, data reconciliation, and migration processes. 
  • Security & Compliance: Demonstrated experience in DoD cybersecurity, RMF compliance, and security incident response management. 
  • Health IT & Trauma Registry Experience: Familiarity with ICD-10, SNOMED, AIS coding, and trauma registry systems. 
  • Systems Engineering Expertise: Experience with complex system-of-systems integration and model-based systems engineering. 
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to present complex technical solutions to senior stakeholders. 
  • Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience with TMIP-J, BATDOK, MHS GENESIS – Theater, DHMS PEO, and Defense Health Agency programs. 
  • Health informatics expertise, including HL7, FHIR, and experience with EHR systems. 
  • PMP Certification and experience with DoD programs related to trauma or operational medicine. 
  • Development skills in Oracle DBMS, MS SQL, and programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript. 
  • Prior experience with Theater Medical Systems (AHLTA-T/TC2) and combat support systems.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
