Competitive Business Intelligence Analyst

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic team in the federal procurement space. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting competitive intelligence to support strategic decision-making and enhance our competitive positioning within the federal procurement market.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Business Intelligence Analyst:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Business Intelligence Analyst Responsibilities Include: 

  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis on competitors, market trends, and federal procurement policies to provide actionable insights and intelligence. 
  • Data Collection: Gather data from a variety of sources, including federal databases, industry reports, and competitive intelligence tools, to build comprehensive profiles of competitors and market conditions. 
  • Reporting: Develop and present detailed reports, briefings, and dashboards on competitive landscape, including key trends, threats, opportunities, and competitor strategies. 
  • Strategic Support: Collaborate with business development and strategy teams to inform and support the development of competitive strategies, proposal strategies, and tactical approaches. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand their information needs and provide timely, relevant, and accurate competitive intelligence. 
  • Market Trends Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze market trends, policy changes, and procurement opportunities to anticipate shifts in the competitive landscape. 
  • Database Management: Maintain and update competitive intelligence databases and tools to ensure the accuracy and relevance of information. 
  • Ethical Standards: Adhere to ethical standards and compliance regulations related to the collection and use of competitive intelligence. 
  • Black Hat Sessions: Assemble informed participants to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats from key competitors on strategic pursuits.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

 

Business Intelligence Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience as a competitive intelligence analyst or certified intelligence professional can be substituted for a degree  
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, intelligence analysis, or strategic analysis, with a focus on the federal procurement environment Previous intelligence analysis experience servicing the DOD or IC is desired.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal procurement processes, regulations, and market dynamics. Familiarity with key federal agencies and their procurement practices. 
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets, identify key trends and insights, and present findings in a clear and actionable manner. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in competitive intelligence tools, databases (e.g., Federal Procurement Data System, USASpending.gov, FedBizOpps, SAM.gov, GovWin, Lexis Nexis), and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau). 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft detailed reports and deliver presentations to senior management. 
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data collection, analysis, and reporting. 
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and develop strategic recommendations based on analysis. 
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals. 
  • Ethics and Integrity: Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive information. 
  • Certifications: Certified Defense All Source Analysis (CDASA), Certified All Source Intelligence Professional (CASIP), The Intelligence Fundamentals Professional Certification (IFPC), Certified Intelligence Professional (CIP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CCI desired 
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
