Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated School-Based Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health services to students, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation with staff and parents. This role is crucial in fostering a positive school environment and supporting the overall emotional and psychological health of the student. Serving Henry County, Illinois.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student well-being.
  • May Support, Develop, and implement programs that promote mental health awareness and wellness.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
  • Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards.

Work hours will be Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Fully licensed preferred (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT). Unlicensed candidates pursuing licensure will be considered.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or clinical setting.
  • Experience in assessment and diagnostics utilizing the DSM-5-TR.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, mental health issues, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to cultural competency and inclusivity.
