As a Counselor, you will oversee all aspects of a patient’s treatment. Responsible for the coordination and continuity of care from admission through discharge and follow-up of the patients. Your role also promotes performance improvement and service delivery by providing comprehensive psychological therapy directed towards addressing the causes and effects of the patient’s addiction by providing substance abuse counseling for assigned patients including family and group therapy.

KAR: 1:370: Section 11. Qualifications and Responsibilities of Clinicians. A Clinician shall be: (Clinicians are responsible for conducting assessments, treatment planning and counseling sessions)
Works under the supervision of the Clinical Services Supervisor. Receives at least 4 hours of face-to-face clinical supervision monthly during at least 2 supervisory meetings. Meets training requirements; has all treatment plans cosigned by the Clinical Services supervisor within 10 business days AND obtains TCADC within 2 months of the date of employment as a clinician. 20 hours of annual training in alcohol and drug services
